David W. Gordon, CPA, PFS, joined  Gordon, Keeter & Co (previously Newberry, Cathey & Co. and Newberry, Gordon & Shuford PA) in 1996.  He became an owner in 2000.  He is a 1991 graduate of North Carolina State University with a BA in accounting and has over 20 years of experience in public accounting.

David heads the individual, estate, trust and gift tax departments for the firm.  He also works with closely held businesses and their owners assisting them with many planning issues. 

David is currently the vice chairman of the Cabarrus County Community Foundation, finance chairman of Forest Hill United Methodist Church, and a board member of The Concord Rotary Club Foundation, Inc.  He is past president of The Rotary Club of Concord.

In his free time, David enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and reading.

Ladoska Keeter relocated to the Concord Area from the eastern part of North Carolina in June of 1999.  She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1995 and worked for a year in the private sector as the Controller for an industrial consulting firm. 

She moved into public accounting in 1996 and has worked extensively providing various tax, accounting and consulting services to her clients.  Ladoska currently manages the business tax, accounting and bookkeeping departments and primarily focuses on working with businesses and non-profit organizations on their tax compliance, operational efficiencies and long range planning. 

Ladoska is active in the community through various nonprofit and civic organizations including Cabarrus Rotary, Community Free Clinic, and Cabarrus Rotary Charitable Works.  She and her husband, Tony Grillo, enjoy live music and traveling.

Michele joined our firm in 2010 after she and her family relocated to North Carolina from Minnesota. She came to Gordon, Keeter & Co. with ten years of experience with a large regional firm. Michele graduated from Moorhead State University in Minnesota in 2000 with a BS in accounting and finance. As a CPA licensed in both North Carolina and Minnesota, her focus is on corporate and partnership tax compliance and reporting and she does a great deal of consulting work with small businesses.

Michele completed leadership Cabarrus in 2011 and has served on the steering committee since graduating. She has served as president and vice president of the local BNI chapter.

As NASCAR fans, she and her husband and four children like the racing experiences the Concord region offers.

Office Manager

Karen joined the firm in August 2017 and was the former Office Manager for 21 years for her family’s 65-year-old water treatment business located in Ohio. Karen graduated from Cedarville University with a business degree in 1984. She has 2 adult sons who also reside in North Carolina and her newest hobby is ballroom dancing.

Administrative Assistant

Ashley and her family decided to leave their hometown of Milwaukee in November 2021 and make Concord their new home. She joined the firm in January 2022 with 4 years administrative experience obtained during her time working for the Department of Corrections back in Wisconsin. Outside of the office, Ashley is an avid karaoke lover, gymnastic mom and enjoys exploring new restaurants in the city.

John joined Gordon, Keeter & Co. in February 2015, after relocating back to North Carolina from Nebraska. He is a licensed CPA in Nebraska and North Carolina. John graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2003 with a BA in Economics. John moved to North Carolina in 2005 to work in the financial services industry. He received a Master of Accountancy from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2009 and worked for a local CPA firm and his father’s CPA practice remotely before returning to Nebraska in 2012 to assist his father in closing his CPA firm. John primarily focuses on individual income tax, estates and trusts and has extensive experience in the agricultural industry.

John currently lives in Fryeburg, Maine and with technology today, can work easily and efficiently remotely and virtually. He and his wife Nicole, have two sons ,Josh and Zach, two dogs, Penny and Butch, and a cat, Holly. Prior to relocating to Maine, John was a member of the Afton Sunset Rotary Club and completed Leadership Cabarrus with the Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2016 Class. He is an avid baseball, college football, and outdoor sports fan.

Individual Tax

Logan joined Gordon, Keeter, & Co. in August of 2022 with over 5 years of tax return experience. He graduated from Catawba College in 2018 with his BA in Accounting and UNC at Greensboro in 2020 with his MS in Accounting. In his spare time, Logan enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, playing cornhole, and watching sports.

Heather joined the firm in 2018 and primarily focuses on individual income taxes. She has a broad range of public accounting experience spanning 18 years. Her experience includes assisting individuals, small to mid-size businesses and not for profit entities with both tax preparation and planning.

Heather graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA with a B.S. in Finance in 1990 and received a Masters of Accountancy in 2006 from UNC Charlotte.

She has served on the School Board and the Finance Committee of a public charter school for the past 8 years.

Heather and her husband reside in the University area of Charlotte with their two children and two dogs. She is an avid outdoors person who enjoys spending time hiking in the mountains of North Carolina.

Kaitlyn joined our firm in February 2016.  She came to Gordon, Keeter & Co. with six years of tax experience with a national accounting firm.  Kaitlyn graduated from Appalachian State University in 2008 with BSBA in Accounting and Master of Science in Accounting in 2009.  She is a licensed CPA in North Carolina and is a member of the AICPA and NCACPA.  Kaitlyn focuses on corporate and partnership tax compliance and reporting.

As ASU alumni and football fans, she and her husband and two children often make the trip up the mountain in the fall to cheer on the Mountaineers!

Accounting Staff

Zai Lor graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.S. in Accounting in 2021. Zia started her accounting career working for a CPA firm in Wisconsin, where she was a payroll specialist. She relocated back to North Carolina and joined Gordon, Keeter & Co as a staff accountant in the fall of 2021. She works with many business clients processing payrolls, 1099s, sales tax compliance, QuickBooks consulting and general bookkeeping services.

She is currently engaged and resides in the Salisbury area. She loves outdoor activities especially, hiking and gardening.
